Adventure is Out There!

Brandon decided to take me on a surprise adventure to Alpine Loop for a scenic drive and some hiking. I really love when he does spontaneous things! (he really is the worst when it comes to surprises, so it's great when he can pull it off- still love you babe haha) I have become O B S E S S E D with scenic pictures for some reason. So I tend to take a lot whenever I think something looks pretty. Brandon just lets me do my thing. If only I had my Nikon D5200 I have been wishing for and some photoshop... just iPhone shots for now. You will probably laugh at how many pictures I took and how stupid they might be, but I tried haha. Apparently I was digging the sun, I got lots of shining pictures. I really am so in love with Utah and all of the beauty it possesses. We live in one B-E-A-utiful state. I wanna go on as many Utah adventures as I can! We have so much to do and so little time ;)
We better get started!

Biking Our Nights Away

Brandon and I have enjoyed our new bikes so much. We had a little bit of buyers remorse at first, because our {little miss princess} decided to get sick three different times, and cost us an arm and a leg. We hope that our pup is out of the ER stage. We can't afford it anymore ;) Brandon has LOVED his new bike. We searched for weeks for the perfect bike. I literally hated bikes because of how many we test rode and all of the bike stores we went to. But I am glad he found THE ONE. Brandon wants to go on rides all the time. Of course he is way better at biking than I am (he did have two years of practice, 4 years ago... but still ;) mostly just an excuse for me to use), so most of the time I am left in the dust. Hopefully I will build up the stamina and strength and will be just as good and not slow him down. I have loved the adventures these bikes take us on. It also gives me a great work out and it DOESN'T HURT MY KNEES. That is truly the best part. I have always loved biking for that reason alone. Brandon and I always joke that our poor children are going to be born without knee caps. We obviously hope that isn't the case but boy, we both have the most terrible knees. Anyways, this post is just dedicated to our many adventures that we have had and will continue to have on these things. It's very exciting!

Late Nights & Bug Bites

Well, another camping adventure has come and gone. We are pretty sad to say the least. But we are so glad for all the fun that we had on this quick trip to Memorial Park. Let me just tell you, it did not start out very pretty. If any of you know me well enough, you know that I am absolutely {H O R R I B L E} when it comes to directions. I rely on Brandon heavily when it comes to the direction department. I honestly would probably have a hard time making it to my grandma's house even though I have been there a bajillion times. Don't even think about asking me how to get places, I will forever and always be the wrong person to ask. Anyways, poor Brandon received the wrath of Amber on our way up to Memorial Park. We got to Ogden canyon and Brandon promised he knew where he was going. I believed him of course. First off, we were already wayyy later than we expected to be. It was soon going to be dark and I was not particularly excited about trying to find our camping spot(where my family was patiently waiting for us with no cell phone service). I already knew they were worried about us, because we were already late at that point. So, as we got closer to the exit, Brandon drove right past it.... *cue evil Amber. "BRANDON! YOU JUST PASSED THE D$#& EXIT!, I THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHERE YOU WERE GOING!..." I continued to be thoroughly upset as we had to make an illegal U-Turn only to have to drive all the way back down the canyon, to just turn around and drive all the way back up it. I am only telling you this because I feel like I need to publicly apologize to my poor husband to see such an ugly side of me! Don't worry, we only were lost the rest of the time. Haha epic fail on our parts. BUT I am glad to say that we got there around 9:45 PM and set up camp in the dark and we still were able to have a great time, regardless of my evil outbreak. This husband of mine puts up with so much. I love him for it. My Dad's family comes to Memorial Park each year for a big family camping frenzy. It was so much fun to see everyone! We played lots of games, ate lots of food, shot starbursts off the top of cans with BB guns, enjoyed late night chats by the campfire, sat in the freezing cold river, visited Causey Dam, laughed a lot, slept a lot  (well, Brandon definitely had his fair share of beauty naps), and loved every second of it! Can't wait for the next one. I am so grateful for these little moments and memories that last a life time. I am so blessed to have such an awesome family! I love you all!

Let Freedom Ring

Oh Independence Day, I love you so. I will be forever grateful for those who fight for our country to give us our freedoms. WE (all of us) are so blessed. Even if our country is often in turmoil, we have so much to be thankful for! I will never forget that.

Brandon and I had such a fun weekend! It is always great to get an extra day off work (even though I did go in for a half day). We went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game on the 4th and it was a blast! I am glad that I have a husband who shares a love of soccer with me. I am so happy we got to enjoy it together! We are even thinking about getting season tickets next year.  That will be something fun we can look forward to doing together. We are slowly trying to incorporate some more 'together time' in our busy lives! We feel like school and work has been keeping us from having as much fun as we used to. But we are trying our best to not let that get in our way! So far, we have some fun things planned and I can't wait for some great adventures with the hubs. On Saturday we woke up really early to go to the Jensen family golf tournament. Brandon's family does this fun little golf tournament each year. They split the family into small teams and we golf 9 holes to find the winning team. I am NOT a good golfer. But I do go to have some fun! That's the great thing about this little tournament, it's mostly to have a good time and it isn't super competitive. I had a blast, even if I was the weak link on my team. I actually did better than I thought I would! Brandon was pretty proud of me for getting out there and trying. He said that we can go practice so I will be even better next time the tournament comes around. And maybe I will invest in some better golfing attire haha. Even though our team lost, we had a blast doing it! I sure do like to spend time with the Jensen's, they are all so kind and it's great to listen to Brandon reminisce with his cousins. Just a great group of people those Jensen's are. I am glad that I married into such an awesome family. And I am glad that Brandon and I got to have such a fun weekend together!

This is my random picture of breakfast haha I made a mini pancake bar for Brandon. He laughed at me.
