Well, another camping adventure has come and gone. We are pretty sad to say the least. But we are so glad for all the fun that we had on this quick trip to Memorial Park. Let me just tell you, it did not start out very pretty. If any of you know me well enough, you know that I am absolutely {H O R R I B L E} when it comes to directions. I rely on Brandon heavily when it comes to the direction department. I honestly would probably have a hard time making it to my grandma's house even though I have been there a bajillion times. Don't even think about asking me how to get places, I will forever and always be the wrong person to ask. Anyways, poor Brandon received the wrath of Amber on our way up to Memorial Park. We got to Ogden canyon and Brandon promised he knew where he was going. I believed him of course. First off, we were already wayyy later than we expected to be. It was soon going to be dark and I was not particularly excited about trying to find our camping spot(where my family was patiently waiting for us with no cell phone service). I already knew they were worried about us, because we were already late at that point. So, as we got closer to the exit, Brandon drove right past it.... *cue evil Amber. "BRANDON! YOU JUST PASSED THE D$#& EXIT!, I THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHERE YOU WERE GOING!..." I continued to be thoroughly upset as we had to make an illegal U-Turn only to have to drive all the way back down the canyon, to just turn around and drive all the way back up it. I am only telling you this because I feel like I need to publicly apologize to my poor husband to see such an ugly side of me! Don't worry, we only were lost the rest of the time. Haha epic fail on our parts. BUT I am glad to say that we got there around 9:45 PM and set up camp in the dark and we still were able to have a great time, regardless of my evil outbreak. This husband of mine puts up with so much. I love him for it. My Dad's family comes to Memorial Park each year for a big family camping frenzy. It was so much fun to see everyone! We played lots of games, ate lots of food, shot starbursts off the top of cans with BB guns, enjoyed late night chats by the campfire, sat in the freezing cold river, visited Causey Dam, laughed a lot, slept a lot (well, Brandon definitely had his fair share of beauty naps), and loved every second of it! Can't wait for the next one. I am so grateful for these little moments and memories that last a life time. I am so blessed to have such an awesome family! I love you all!
